Glasspop

Glasspop are a new band from Poznan (Poland) who fuse 80’s style New Romanticism with infectious Indie/Electro. “I Need Somebody” is their first official release and evokes memories of early 80’s Synthpop (think D. Mode, Flock of Seagulls, Erasure even). The keys in the background show more of an Indie/Rock slant but the vocal is pure Pop. The instrumentation is multi-layered, as is the vocal. It’s a personal song, possibly a lovesong or a plea for love.

The drums/keys in the midsection offer a glimpse of where their sound might take them on future releases, while ‘Maverick’ (vox) has good range. The video is simple and unfussy and while nothing musically these days is original, their initial sound would suggest where they are pulling influence from. As a start point though it’s decent enough.
