WATCHET LIVE C.I.C, the organisers of WATCHET FESTIVAL are proud to announce a huge number of incredible acts for Watchet 2019.
Saturday night’s headliner is none other than Embrace, a band who need little introduction having released three Number 1 selling albums in the UK (two of which went platinum), and more than 15 Top 40 singles, including “All You Good Good People”, “Come Back To What You Know”, official England World Cup anthem, “World At Your Feet”, and the Chris Martin-penned “Gravity”.
Sheffield’s finest dance-rock act, Reverend & The Makers will being proceedings to a close on Sunday night. Fronted as always by high-octane frontman ëReverendí Jon McClure, R&TM are one of the finest live acts around, having performed at thousands of venues worldwide, including the iconic Wembley Stadium (supporting Oasis). Their most recent album, “Death Of A King” charted at number 11 – their 2nd highest chart placing, proving that they are as relevant now as ever before.
Former Joy Division and New Order bassist, Peter Hook returns to the Watchet main stage (along with his band, The Light), after a triumphant performance at the festivalís 10th Birthday “party” in 2016. Also returning are much loved modern Cornish folk troubadours 3 Daft Monkeys, as will be – of course – Watchet Festivalís very own “house band”, The Wurzels.
Now led by Errol Brown doppelganger Kennie Simon, Hot Chocolate is one of the most successful bands ever to come out of the 70’s. Featuring original members Pat Olive, Harvey Hinsley and Tony Connor, they are still performing today to audiences all over the world who love the band’s distinctive sound, and classic hits including “So You Win Again”, “No Doubt About It”, and of course the only track to go Top 10 in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s – “You Sexy Thing”.
Friday nightís headline act, alongside many other exciting artists, are still to be announced! Watchet Festival is a not-for-profit family festival with amazing views of the West Somerset coastline and beyond. Three live stages host more than 60 live acts, bringing a wide range of high-calibre musical acts not normally found performing in West Somerset, at a very affordable price.
Watchet 2019 is set to continue the festival’s tradition of completely selling out in advance. Those wishing to camp on site are particularly encouraged to buy their tickets as soon as possible. Camping tickets are limited and usually sell out months ahead of the festival. Non-camping tickets have also sold out completely in advance (with none available on the gate) for more than three years in a row.
Alongside a wide variety of high-quality food stalls, the extensive in-house Cider and Real Ale Bar prices are always kept as low as possible, providing one of the best-value refreshments offerings to be found at any event in the UK.
Returning after yet another completely sold-out-in-advance festival in 2018 (which featured the likes of Reef, Scouting For Girls, The Selecter, Melanie C and many more) Watchet LIVE Festival will once again support local charity groups including The Childrenís Hospice South West, Elliot’s Touch, and the “Stand Against Speed 4 Bethany”
