Black Water County

One of Dorset’s finest exports is six-piece Folk powerhouse Black Water County who formed on St Patrick’s Day out of a love of The Pogues, Dropkick Murphyís, Flogging Molly and Guinness. They have since worked incredibly hard on fine tuning their considerable musicianship and impressively memorable stage shows. To date, they have released two fine EP’s and in February they are set to release their debut album “Taking Chances”. There is a massive launch party at Mr Kyps on 3rd February with the brilliant “Trav Cats” and Chris Payn also on the bill.

Black Water County

As an appetiser to the album the band have just released the first single called “Start Something New”; a tune that really shows that the band have matured and are really finding a sound of their own, free of the shackles of their early influences. At just 3 minutes 13 seconds it is a real shot in the arm full of melodies and foot-tapping rhythms with well put together harmonic unisons. A massive team effort of a tune that certainly wets the appetite for the forthcoming album release. The band, with the help of The Ranch production house and Marianne Harris have put a video together for the track which can be seen below.
