Including date at Southampton’s 1865
Liverpudlian band The Christians are set to celebrate their longstanding musical career with their 30th-anniversary tour in October, including dates at O2 Academy venues in London (Islington), Sheffield and Oxford and O2 Institute Birmingham.
Having enjoyed huge acclaim during the late eighties and early nineties, The Christians became renowned for an endless string of soulful yet socially aware hits.
They garnered the No 1 spot in the UK album charts with their second album and 1990 release Colour, which knocked Phil Collins of the top of the charts, alongside a procession of huge single releases, including “Forgotten Town”, “Ideal World”, “Born Again”, “Harvest For The World” and “What’s In A Word”.
Still headed by enigmatic lead singer, Garry Christian, described by The Mirror as having ìone of the finest voices in popî, the band are enjoying a revival, touring the UK and Europe with their most recent studio album, WE (autumn 2015). Catch them live for an evening of special renditions of their most cherished songs that have defined their career and witness a triumphant performance, which had legendary broadcaster Chris Evans exclaim: ìIt was the best gig Iíve ever been toî.
