Single: “Reignite” by Defaced
April 18, 2024
“DEFACED” is a South West of the UK-based one man band with this multi-talented artist bringing together a fusion of rap/metal/hardcore flavours. Taking influence from the no nonsense aggression found in Hardcore bands like Hatebreed, Stray from the Path and Beartooth, combined with the lyrical flow and groove only found in the world of hip hop-inspired, early rap/metal crossover bands such as Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park; “Defaced” aka Curtis intends to be like a proverbial punch to the face of the music scene that is only rivalled by the energy delivered live by one man, all D.I.Y performed and created.
Curtis lyrically takes a strong focus on challenging current affairs and issues in today’s society, as well as mental health and the struggles of life that we can all relate to on a daily basis. These things combined give the resurgence of ‘nu metal’ that’s being seen in the world of heavy music right now a new and unique flavour not heard before.
The first release is “Reignite” and it is revealed to the world on 3rd May, with future releases already in the pipeline. The track is certainly not for the faint-hearted, it’s a full-on assault of the senses with crushing guitar riffs and rib-crushing basslines; along with powerfully delivered multi-levelled vocals. It mixes those 1990’s ideas from the nu-metal bands with modern technology and with plenty of dramatic attitude to match. The high-octane coming together of these ideas will appeal to quite a cross section of music fans and it will be interesting to see how this all comes together in front of audiences.
