News: The Cursus Cider & Music Festival returns to Cranborne Chase
March 9, 2022on bank holiday weekend 2nd – 5th June with another fantastic line-up
Local festival-goers are celebrating the return of the Cursus Cider & Music Festival to Dorset this summer on bank holiday weekend June 2nd – 5th. A small capacity, grassroots festival of original music, Cursus has been on hiatus for two years due to the Covid pandemic. But 2022 sees it return with the same energy, good vibes, and great line-up as ever before. Located near Sixpenny Handley in the beautiful surroundings of Cranborne Chase, Cursus offers a simple festival experience based around good people and good music. It is family and dog friendly, and live-in vehicles are welcome as well as tent campers. With a huge camping area and late-night camp fire, this is a festival to relax and make new friends as well as party.
This year’s Saturday night headliners are the incredible Dutty Moonshine Big Band, with a supporting bill including the likes of Random Hand, Black Water County, The Leylines, Skimmity Hitchers, Subgiant, Samantics and Emily Capell. As well as nearly 30 live acts there will also be a selection of DJs throughout the weekend, all held together by legendary local DJ and compere Dapper Dan aka the Rock ‘n’ Roll Town Crier. Festival Organiser Kev Davis said; “Over the last eight years Cursus has built a reputation as a down-to-earth, fun and inclusive event in a wonderful location. Tickets are selling really well as people look to bounce back from the pandemic and
rediscover the unique experience of small festivals.”
