Lighthouse, Poole
Featuring: Krista & the Bees, Violet & Liam Wakefield
Live & Unheard, the monthly showcase for original music talent put together by Matt Black of Hangover Hill Recording Studio, is back with three more unsigned acts at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the arts, on Wednesday 6th November(and every 1st Wednesday of each month).
Four-piece folk/pop/rock band Krista Green & The Bees pack a real punch. Krista fronts the band with skillful rhythm guitar and smoky vocals, as Jonny Phillips provides lead guitar and backing vocals and Kris Venzi-James adds funky bass with Justin Young bringing the authentic beats. Together, they effortlessly entwine high-energy, foot-stomping tunes with a soulful laid-back tone.
Violet, a blast from the Bournemouth underground, arrive on the scene with moody hypnotic melodies, raw rhythms and angsty mordant vocals. The trio cite influences that range from Nirvana to Lou Reed as they creating a grungy twist with natural rock íní roll vibes.
Singer-Songwriter Liam Wakefield steps off the frontline and onto the Live & Unheard stage to share his blend of folk and Americana. Still a serving soldier in the British Army, 29-year-old Liam has found a sound inspired by early Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, but with a new, rough edge, to evoke the feelings of the exciting and dangerous life he has lived.
October’s event completely sold out, so be sure to secure your ticket beforehand to avoid disappointment, purchase your ticket here.
