EP: “Actors” by I’m No Chessman
April 20, 2018
Alternative Rock creators I’m No Chessman from Bournemouth formed back in 2013 and released their debut EP “This Medicine”. After a few notable gigs in the local area, there was a period of inactivity until recently when the band announced a revised line-up including Plastic Jeezus bassist Aaron Roberts and Jeremy Lee on drums. The band will be releasing new music throughout 2018, with initial singles followed by an EP “Six Impossible Things” that features intensely personal lyrics about drinking, depression, social anxiety and the loss of youth; on top of the driving guitar coupled with piano sounds.
The first single to be released is a tune called “Actors”; a refreshing burst of modern Rock with some nicely laid down electric guitar sounds with catchy rhythms, along with Michael’s powerfully delivered vocals. The band have clearly worked hard on their sound and this is quite a change from their 2013 offering; the production, songwriting and music all show a marked improvement. The tune is just a taster of what is on the way from this clearly talented band, we wait in anticipation for their further releases.
