Just as winter threatens us with long nights and cold days, the organisers of the Cursus Music and Cider Festival in Dorset have announced a fantastic line-up for 2018 to look forward to.
The three day festival on bank holiday May 25 – 27 will see an outstanding bill of national, international and local acts entertain the crowd at Canada Farm near Sixpenny Handley. Saturday night headliners Skinny Lister are a real coup for the festival, their famously wild live show now selling out major venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and the USA. The renowned Gaz Brookfield brings his full band The Company Of Thieves to the party, along with Australian folk-punk sensations The Rumjacks, Dublin festival favourites The Eskies and ska-reggae heavyweights New Town Kings.
Also playing across the weekend will be some bands from the top of the local music scene, including Skimmity Hitchers, Black Water County, The Surfin’ Birds, Blue Town Rumble and The Intercepteurs, all held together by Wimborne’s legendary DJ Dapper Dan.
Now in its fourth year, Cursus has an enviable reputation for an intimate, friendly vibe and simple pleasures. Spacious camping, a communal campfire, local food, ciders and ales make this a relaxed and sociable gathering in the beautiful surroundings of the Cranborne Chase. The festival capacity is limited to 500 people, ensuring a stress-free and non-corporate environment.
Children, dogs, tent campers and live-in vehicles are all welcome to join the fun.
Adult tickets start at just £55 with big discounts for under 18s and under 5s. Full information including ticket sales can be found at www.cursusfestival.com
Town crier and Cursus Festival DJ Chris Brown said: “Without a doubt this is the best Cursus line-up so far and we are anticipating an early sell-out. Put the date in your diary and start making plans for your first festival of the summer!”
