News: Jackstock – 20th November
October 22, 2016Barrington Theatre, Ferndown – 7pm
Blandford man Jack Sims was mountain biking with friends in the French Alps when he suffered a serious fall. The fall resulted in life changing injuries with Jack being hospitalised at Salisbury Hospital Spinal Unit. Jack is staying very positive about his future and he is proving to be an inspiration for others with similar injuries. He is very lucky to have a huge amount of passionate support from his direct family and his girlfriend Aimee who visits him every day and spends as much time with him as possible. Through Jack’s positive approach he has shown he will never give up his hope for a recovery. He is now starting a rehabilitation program that first will see him getting out of his hospital bed and in a wheelchair.
Local musician Andy Rose of Bournemouth band Southern Brotherhood is very close to Jack who’s his daughter’s boyfriend of 5 years and thought up the idea of “Jackstock” a concert to raise much needed funds for Jack’s rehabilitation program, currently he has several months of this program ahead of him but Jack is determined to attend JACKSTOCK in person! The event features a mouth-watering selection of local acts all who have agreed to perform for free. The event is situated at the modern Barrington Theatre in Ferndown, just behind Tesco’s and has plenty of parking within easy walking distance. The line-up features two exciting electric bands Mikey Ball and the company, Southern Brotherhood along with two acoustic solo artists Matt JR Hurley and Jamie Lacey. There has already been such overwhelming support for a fundraising effort for this young man that the original crowdfunding target, set up by his work colleagues, has increased from £1,000 to more than £13,000 in just 4 weeks.
Tickets are just £10 and can be purchased if available on the night or from the Barrington website here.
