Artist Details
King Charles
Last year Charles took on his biggest tour to date, a 28 nights in 28 days extravaganza that would have broken a lesser individual, but ended in triumph as he headlined the London Forum. Emboldened, one of the first things he said to his friend Marcus Mumford was “I want to make the album I should have made five years ago.”

Charles and Marcus began demoing songs, declaring the whole idea of the project to be ìmusic to my earsî, Marcus said he would produce it and they decamped to a farm near Exeter to begin working up the songs, with mattresses pushed up against the walls to make vocal booths and old friends to jam with including Charlie Fink and Tom Hobden (Noah and the Whale) and Winston Marshall (Mumford & Sons).

CC Smugglers
It’s a classic tale of how hard work can pay off and CC Smugglers have definitely been working hard. Their reputation as “The best live band on the scene” (Cerys Matthews, BBC 6 Music) was originally established by busking outside every UK tour date of the “two-time Grammy award winning” US Country musicians Old Crow Medicine Show. After the old-time country legends caught the Bedfordshire boys” “hugely engaging live performance” (The Sunday Times) on the street, the platinum-selling Old Crow Medicine Show members refused to leave CC Smugglers playing outside and completed the tour by sharing the stage, side by side, at sold out venues including Shepherds Bush Empire and HMV Manchester Ritz.

Helskinki
Drew McConnell’s HELSINKI is the side project of Drew McConnell, bass player in Babyshambles and musician to the stars, judging by his vivacious CV and the rollcall of musicians on “A Guide for the Perplexed”.

For as well as the guest artists such as Pete Doherty, Albert Hammond Jr, Fionn Regan and Emma Gillespie, the free-flowing HELSINKI band vibe incorporates the stellar talents of drummer Seb Roachford (Polar Bear), double bassist Spencer Brown (Andy Sheppard), guitarist Matt Park (Mystery Jets), keyboardist Stephen Large (Squeeze, Paul Heaton), percussionist Jamie Morrison (The Noisettes, Stereophonics) and violinists Johnny Fielding (Larrikin Love) and Gillian Maguire (Soko, Swim Deep). These are the industryís backroom dreamers helping to haul Drew

Palms and Pelicans
Palms and Pelicans are a 4-piece Dream-Pop outfit from The New Forest. Founded by Jack and Mattea, the two childhood friends have been writing and recording music together for over a decade – only to perfect their sound after finding bassist, Daryl, and drummer, Darren, in 2014. MintSouth.com sum up their sound; “sweet melodies against crunchy guitar – they punch into your musical consciousness, digging a hole and leaving flowers to go. They just have something special about them”. The band have had support and radio play from BBC South, BBC6 and Amazing Radio. Palms and Pelicans are set to release new single, ‘Comfortable’ in February and will embark on a headline UK tour this summer.
