Recently released “Reckless Youth” throws a healthy dose of pop/punk all the way from France. Kicking off with “Can’t Forget” you are immediately hit with a fast-paced rhythm that is sure to keep your foot tapping during this thoroughly addictive opener. There is an interesting break towards the end where it briefly has what seems like a bass drop; and almost some hardcore, but keeps its pop/punk vibe. “Secrets” takes on an initially more punky feel with the vocals and raw sound, but remains just as catchy.
“Lonely Moment” does a complete u-turn, opening with an acoustic guitar it gently plucks away at you. The shortest track on the EP this instrumental piece will catch you from left field. “No Regrets” maintains the acoustic feel being just guitars and vocals.
Closing off the EP is “Youth Disaster” with a slightly darker guitar riff this is a slow burner, and grows into an almost anthemic track as the layered vocals cry out at the chorus.
The whole EP has superb execution and production, but this is nothing without content. Ranging from the addictive to the more mellow acoustic tracks this EP ticks a number of boxes. The 6 tracks of scuzzy punk will be great when spring comes round. With an undeniable energy this trio have an alt/pop/punk sound that they appear more than comfortable with. Blending in a style reminiscent of a number of other acts this is by no ways derivative, but a hearty contender. Having shared the stage with some big names these guys can only go onwards and upwards.
The EP was released on the 26th February.
