The Endeavour

Last month saw the release of “Voyage”, the debut EP from Alt/Rockers Endeavour. This four track EP can only be described as explosive as “Take It All” opens with its guitar licks and punchy drum work. Immediately your foot is tapping, the drums hit you and just pull you in as the guitars pick away at you. All this is set off with Shawns clean vocals.

“Open Heart” has a catchy, almost soaring melody-offset with the vocals that almost seem heartbroken. The guitar chords punctuate the melody.

With the chance to be anthemic “No One Else To Blame” is one of the tracks that is a fast-paced crowd pleaser as the chorus hits you with the cries of “We are, we are!”.

The Endeavour

Opening with an acoustic guitar “After The Storm” infers the calm you get after the chaos. But you can hear the power brewing, and it is not long before you forget that acoustic opening. The track is a more laid back affair, but one that keeps your attention from beginning to end.

The EP is packed with four up-tempo Rock tracks that should satisfy most, and is a great debut. Apart from being completely addictive this EP showcases their ability to build and craft some great tracks from Shawn’s powerful vocals to the undeniable skills supporting these vocals. It is not often you hear heavy Rock that is also rather catchy and addictive. It is obvious these guys work well together, and have worked very hard at achieving their sound. When these guys are ready to release an album, if it is of the same quality as this EP then they will be heading for the big time!
