Announce date at Sixty Million Postcards in Bournemouth with support from local Band The Remnants
The Franklys are a four piece force of nature – an all girl rock ‘n’ roll force hailing from Sweden, the UK and the US. Following on from the brilliant ëPuppetí earlier in the year, this new track sees the girls developing a recognised ësoundí.
The Franklys unveil a new video for Bad News, a thunderous piece of “Sabbathesque” RockíníRoll on April 25th. Bad Newsí produced by Sean Genockey (RedRacer) and mastered by Ed Woods (Muse, Roger Daltrey), deals with the consequences that will come from your choices. Bad News sees Zoe Biggsís haunting heavy bass lines, Nicole Pinto doing what good drummers do; make their instrument so much more than a time-keeper. The pocket-sized bundle of dynamite that is Fanny Broberg letting rip with searing lead guitar work and Jen Ahlkvist continues with her bitter-sweet and ever-so-edgy vocals.
Accompanied by an ominous and forboding video; directed by the bandís Nicole Pinto, set in the early 19th century during the Napoleonic Wars. Filmed on location at Fort Amherst, a Napoleonic fort known for its paranormal activity, in particular the sightings of a ghostly figure of a man in a black top hat.
The plot thickens – The band stumble across the fort, and suddenly start to flicker in and out of reality and present day, or so it seems. Overcome by the eerie presence of the fort, the girls summon the Redcoats of the Napoleonic Wars back into the present day to fight one final and fateful battle.
The release of Bad News will be followed by heavy touring around the UK and Europe, with festival shows at Tramlines Festival, Tannerfest and Stortford Music Festivals supporting The Undertones among others.
