Hope FM Studio, Bournemouth
Local Bournemouth singer/songwriter Jack Vallier has been performing at a host of solo gigs around local venues over the lat few years.
A recent chance meeting with fellow musician Beckii Power at college got Jack thinking that his own original songs were starting to grow and needed the benefit of a full band. Jack also recruited Jamie White on lead guitar as well as a drummer and a bassist to form “Vallier”. After just a few gigs things seem to be coming together really nicely with some great guitar work and nice male/female harmonies giving some new depth to Jack well written songs.
The band take influences from their favourite artists such as Coldplay, Artic Monkeys. John Newman, Maroon 5 and many others. At this early stage of the bands career they are all still trying to fine tune and develop a sound without any preconceived ideas of where it will take them.
Ahead of their biggest gig to date at the “Grooves on The Green” Festival at Ashley cross in Parkstone, 3 members of the band along with Conrad Barr, Tim Heywood and Myself came to the Hope Fm studio for a 4 song acoustic session. Without their rhythm section the band performed a selection of their own material “Ooh La”, “Rent It”, “Demons” and “Hard Love” which all sounded great done it this striped down style, with Beckii on Keyboards, Jamie on his brand new acoustic Gretsch guitar and Jack also on acoustic guitar. The band showed loads of confidence and plenty of potential for the future with a thoroughly enjoyable set enjoyed by both us in the studio and our listeners.
