The South Coast Rock scene is on fire at the moment with a host of exciting bands representing a variety of different rock genres. You only have to scroll down our timeline to see the outstanding talent that is emerging.

Metal 2 The Masses

Well it’s a safe bet you can add Southampton’s Chrome Ghost to that ever expanding pool of talent! I only have three demos to go by and have yet to see them live but their Progressive Grunge Stoner sound is quite catchy and addictive. Show me the way is the first track on their Soundcloud page and is very reminiscent of A Perfect Circle in its progressive tone and mellow rhythm. Stand & Deliver is Track two and the rock is let loose on this one very upbeat with a bitching riff going on, only gripe is that it is too short…could be slightly longer. Finishing off with Red Witch we get a cool Psychedelic intro that leads to a thumping riff and has some really nice guitarwork going on. But as with the second track it could do with expanding, if ever a song was crying out for going over four mins it’s this one.

Metal 2 The Masses

As I said there is some good stuff going on here and as these are only demos so I’m sure that in a live setting the band can take the bones of these Soundcloud productions and add some more meatiness to them. Look forward to hearing and seeing a lot more of this band in the coming year! Catch ‘em on the 18th of April when they play the Anvil, Bournemouth, competing in the Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses qualifier.
