Broken Branches at Hope FM
January 29, 2014This week our guests on the “Live Wire Live” radio show were the Bournemouth trio “Broken Branches” who have been making a few waves around town with a whole host of well received live performances.
Guitarist Tom Håkan has been along to the studio before in various other guises with bands such as “The Neon Mile” and “Matilda Mother”. The band have a set of songs that have been radically reworked from the previous “Red Wine & Tangerines” album, as well as a fair amount of new material.
They have a new debut album called “Elderflower Road” which is due to be released sometime in the latter part of this year. The album was recorded in Berkshire’s “Shush Studio” with Indie stalwart Danny De Matos. Danny worked together with the band creating a sound using vintage acoustic guitars, piano, ambient analogue synths and a string quartet. I’m sure we are all looking forward to hearing the results in the near future. The band performed four exclusive acoustic tracks in the studio and the videos of these can be seen below. You will be able to catch Broken Branches live in a host of local venues soon. Check their website and Facebook for regular updates.
