Thirstyman

Thirstyman were formed in Bournemouth in 2009 by Pete Thompson and Matt Camerson who both previously were the singer/songwriters in two popular Dorset based bands “The Absolute Darlings” and “Perico”.

The duo teamed up with bass player Rolf Startin and together created a host of new songs as well as some forgotten gems from their own back catalogues. The band’s sound is very difficult to pigeon hole as there are influences from many areas of music, the band take influence from traditional English/American folk as well some Hispanic and Gypsy infused elements. The band use a whole range of different instruments to create their very original sound with huge emphasis going to the beautifully created vocal harmonies.

The band joined myself and local “Solid Air” and “Rubber Soul” promoter Conrad Barr in the Hope FM studio for an interview and live session. The lively conversation included the a discussion about the every growing family tree that extends from the Bournemouth music scene reaching out far and wide as well talk and the bands performance at this year’s “Grooves On The Green” Festival in Ashley Cross. The band performed three live tracks “Blow”, “No Time For This” and and the appropriately titled final track “Wave Goodbye” all which can be seen on the exclusive videos below.
