Grooves On The Green

To celebrate its 13th year, Grooves has now been extended to run for both the Saturday and Sunday this Summer.

The event has always had the feel of a festival in your back garden, wonderful music, food provided by local producers and entertainment for kids. Last year also saw over £3000 raised for local charities. This year event organisers are planning an even bigger and better weekend of entertainment for all the family. The line on the main stage includes a diverse selection of local bands, who all have been carefully selected to make sure the festival has the correct vibe. The line up is as follows:

The Food and Drink
Saturday – Cider and Sausage festival
For those lovers of real ales and ciders, this is an area not to be missed. Featuring over 30 real ales and 15 ciders all from local micro breweries the event will even have its own Grooves Ale brewed especially for the event!

If you feel a little peckish, tuck into a sausage torpedo. Choose from over 12 different sausages. For the adventurous amongst you, why not try the Devils revenge sausage ñ hot!! Donít worry though if sausages are not your thing. There will be a host of different cuisines in our World Food section.

Sunday – Gastro Sunday
Make your way to the food and drink zone to experience the Best of British local delights. Wood fired pizzas, chip n dips, hog roast, crepes and homemade burgers. And there will be plenty to wash it down with at the Le Bateau Bar on the green.

Kids
Saturday
Go back to days gone by and join in a number of family fun activities. Three legged race, tug of war, wheel barrow races, sack races, Egg and Spoon races. Not just for the kids but for the whole family. Stalls and games as well as arts and crafts.

Alternative Therapies
Saturday – Feel Good day
Weíll be kicking off with a group yoga class and then youíll have chance to try different forms of alternative therapies including reiki, head massage, thai massage. Included in this area will also feature an open mic stage, drumming workshops and jam sessions

Sunday – Sensual Sunday
A feel good zone with a selection of different therapies for all to try. An alternative stage featuring the best in acoustic music and cabaret.

Tickets will be available on the gate and also in advance from the Le Bateau in Ashley Cross. This years charity is Diverse Abilities Plus is an independent, not for profit organisation working together with families to help meet the needs of local people, of all ages with physical and learning difficulties. They are dedicated to supporting their needs today and the needs that they will have tomorrow whilst enabling them to experience a lifetime of opportunities and challenges. They endeavour to achieve this through tailor-made programmes of support, developed according to the needs of the individual through every transitional stage of their lives and personal development.
