News: Fearne
April 5, 2013It seems like a lifetime ago we first met Fearne… Fresh off winning the Dorset Music Awards in 2011 they planned on building on that success with a second album.
Well fast forward two years and it finally appears to have reached fruition! The band will be making the first 500 copies of “songs on postcards” available this summer to fans that pre order the album from pledge music or see them live around the South and the Midlands this Summer.
Alex from the band explained the long absence and what the future holds for Fearne.
“We started work on this album and scrapped it twice before we found a method that worked for us. Eventually we recorded over at Conversion Studios in Gillingham, Dorset and I mixed most of the album with Nick (bass player) and our old friend Sam Stone. It took a long time but we wanted to take our time and adapt to our own lives where possible, we added a new member to the band last year and wanted to be able to include Rob on the songs.
It is so hard making an album that stands out without financial backing and that’s why we owe our fans a debt of gratitude for pre ordering the album more than a year ahead of its release. We are over the moon with the whole “songs on postcards” package and hope you check it out.”
The album is currently due for a limited release to pre order customers on the 20th May. The album will be available online and in limited stores from July released through the bands own label Stir Records.
