Preview: Empire Affair/Peace, Love & Gloves/Military Arcade
March 15, 2013On The Rocks, 23rd March
After the success of the Rock Regeneration Birthday at On The Rocks in Bournemouth, we are back there again for our second promoted gig of the month on Saturday 23rd March with three more great bands for an absolute splendid night of rock ‘n’ roll.
First we have all the way from Newbury “Military Arcade” who are young three piece band who grew up listening to likes Green Day, Big Country, Nirvana and the Sex Pistols. Their sound is just pure guitar led rock ‘n’ roll played with a passion of music from the heart. They have just released their debut EP “Revolution Is Imminent” and this date is part of a UK wide tour.
The next band really need no introduction in these parts, “Peace, Love & Gloves” won the Dorset Music Award in 2012 and have since played some large festivals and also at a few prestigious venues in London. Their sound is really like nothing you have ever heard before and they have an army of fans who join them loyally in every venue they perform chanting ‘Goujon’ in between each song.
Finally we have one of Bournemouth’s most hard working bands Empire Affair who once you have had a taste of their highly charged energetic performances and their infectious well written songs you will be drawn in by them. They really up their game with their latest EP ‘Sparks In The Dark’ which gave birth to a monster of a song called ‘Tornadoes’ as song I promise you will be humming on the way home after the gig.
Tickets are priced at a very reasonable just £3 on the door and On The Rocks have promised locks of drinks promotions to keep all those thirsty people well watered. The gig will be an all age affair so well behaved supervised older children are more than welcome to come along, 1st band will be on around 8pm.
