The Future Has Beens

Storming out Suffolk come The Future Has Beens with a rather addictive blend of hard non-nonsense rock, with a slight stoner influence. The most recent result being their new rather addictive EP called “Black Death”.

This 3 track delight offers the listener just over 10 minutes of well paced heavy rock which is just good honest fun. Opening with the eponymous title track there is no hand holding as you are thrown straight into their clean sound, fast rhythm, heavy guitars, and great vocals. These guys must really rock live [pun intended]. This is followed by the hard more driving sound of “Weightless”, with a rougher edge to the vocals that really set this track off, as Pauls sings about escaping the daily drudgery. Closing with “Repeat To Fade” the pace is maintained, the vocals on this track remind me of someone else, but I cannot quite place it.

The Future Has Beens

To quote “we are not a mediocre indie”, and this is totally accurate. By the time the 3 tracks have finished, you are left feeling that the EP has ended sooner that it should have. This is not a reflection on their capability, or the 3 tracks, just the need for more!

I hope we see more of these guys, and if this level of quality is maintained then they should go far!
