Kissed By Kate

Formed in Poole in April 2011 by brothers Jack and Brendan Belcher “Kissed By Kate” are an exciting new band to hit the local music scene, the 5 piece rock band have been putting in a lot of live performances around the local venues of Dorset and Hampshire impressing audiences in their wake.

They have just released their debut 4 track EP “Ninety One Days On” which opens with the track “As We Stand” which packs a considerable punch with the twin guitar sound right from the start, the hard edged classic rock sound benefits from Steve Davies well executed vocals reminiscent of some of the post-hardcore bands style. The catchy “These Are The Times” follows in a similar vein with some more intricate guitar work showing some influence from band’s such as the “Foo Fighters”, and “Queens Of The Stone Age”.

Completing the EP are the excellent “Addiction” and “Name And Blame” which shows some particularly skillful drumming in places along with some well written powerfully delivered lyrics. Kissed by Kate are a much needed shot in the arm for the local music scene and with this first solid well produced effort they certainly have something here that they can build upon, with some great live performances and a growing reputation, some more hard work could possibly see them going places.
