Poole-based music shop absolutemusic is proud to announce its involvement in the nationwide Learn To Play Day on Saturday 31st March 2012, with the event being officially opened at 10am by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth.
The event has been organised in aid of the music charity Music for All in partnership with the Arts Council of England and the Musicians’ Union, and absolutemusic is one of 70 shops around the country taking part.
On the day, absolutemusic will be offering FREE half-hour music lessons and workshops from 10am to 5pm at its new rehearsal and teaching rooms, next-door to its Wallisdown warehouse (on the Knighton Heath Estate, near The Range, Dunelm Mill and Wickes). The sessions, aimed at all ages and abilities, will be offered by absolutemusic staff and other local teachers. As well as guitar, drum and keyboard lessons, there will be sing- along sessions, African drumming workshops, DJing masterclasses, family jam rooms, ukulele practice and a ‘Have A Go’ room where visitors can try a variety wind, brass, string and percussion instruments.
There will also be an acoustic stage where various musicians (from guitarists to string quartets) will be performing throughout the day, kids’ activities, special discounts on lessons, rehearsal time and instruments, plus the absolutemusic staff will be on hand to offer advice.
