EP: “Voyeuristic Tendencies” by Escape From ’98
March 5, 2012Three piece Bournemouth punk band “Escape From98” formed in the summer of 2011 in the middle of a bustling music scene believing there was a place for another Punk Rock band in the town. These dreams have been delivered and they have fitted in perfectly putting in some great performances in and around the local music venues and even progressing well within the Dorset Music Awards.Their debut release, was delivered to Bournemouth and the world on 27th February 2012.
“Voyeuristic Tendencies”, a 3 track EP, available with bonus track “Banking” which can be downloaded for free from the bands website http://www.escapefrom98.bandcamp.com, it features some little gems that are all are as customary around 3 minutes or under and will have you singing along after the first couple of listens. Lee sings lead and Lennon backs up with harmonies on “All I Ever Wanted” (Was to be in a punk rock band), nothing really new here, just a simple but effective a good solid start. The stand out track “Punk Rock Princess” sees the band step up a level with something a little more complex including a little ska punk style and a really great guitar hook. “Ben’s Mum” is a story about a infatuation with a friend’s Mum which I am sure all of us at one time or another has experienced. This is a great solid start from a band with a very bright future and we here at Rock Regeneration hope we can see the band flourish and make more of their own dreams come true.
