The Signal Fires are a British Indie/rock band from Woking in Surrey, England. The band met through friends and previous bands and formed in 2011. They take their inspiration from bands such as U2, Simple Minds, Joy Division. The 1st recording is the three track ‘EP’ titled ‘Escape’ which combines synths and guitars to make a unique Indie style sound with the vocals sounding a little like Suede from the ‘Dog Man Star’ era in places.
Ryan and Ian were in formerly in the Woking band ‘Satellite State’ http://www.myspace.com/satellitestatemusic who despite great reviews and stunning live performances decided to call it a day after only a few years. The Signal Fires can been seen playing live around the Surrey area and have been confirmed as playing at the Forever Festival in Chiddingfold on the 28th August, check out their web-page for more details.
