The Alarm – new album, and single, plus 30th Anniversary Tour

On June 6th 2011 it will be 30-years since Welsh rockers The Alarm performed their debut concert in their hometown of Rhyl. 17 Top 50 UK singles and 5 million album sales later, The Alarm will mark the occasion with the release of their new studio album, “The Sound And The Fury”.

The album’s release will be preceded by a 20-date 30th Anniversary Tour of the UK throughout May including a date at the Brook on the Tuesday 10th, which itself is preceded by a new single, ‘Unbreak The Promise’, on May 2nd .

‘Unbreak The Promise’ will feature the sound of Alarm fans from all over the world – aka The Alarm Choir – who were recorded during a unique overdub session at the bands annual Gathering Concert in Prestatyn earlier this year.

Fans will also be offered the opportunity to make their own mark on the Alarm’s Anniversary year, via a special internet charity auction, enabling winners to become an official member of The Alarm ‘For One Night Only’. Successful entrants will be invited on stage during the encore to become an honorary member of The Alarm. Funds raised will benefit a cancer care facility local to each venue on the tour via The Alarm’s frontman Mike Peters’ charity – www.lovehopestrength.co.uk

In 1981, The Alarm released their first independent single ‘Unsafe Building’, and since then the band has forged a unique path, sound-tracked by amped-up acoustic guitars and Mike Peters distinctive, passionate vocals. This is the sound of The Alarm that has been heard around the world, sharing the stages along the way with the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young & Bono amongst others.

In 2011, the touring line up of The Alarm features:

Mike Peters – Vox / Acoustic Guitar / Harmonica
James Stevenson (Generation X/Chelsea) Guitar
Craig Adams (Sisters Of Mercy / The Mission) Bass Guitar
Smiley (Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros) Drums
Mark Taylor (Simple Minds) Piano

The Alarm and Mike Peters have played the Southampton Brook several times before and each show seems to get better and better. The atmosphere is always very special and the band and audience alike seem to have a great night.
